We deal with super aggressive Canadian Geese here in Saskatoon. But in Vancouver, spring brings out the also aggressive dive-bombing crows!
But hey, they’re nesting too and are just being good protective parents. Crows are also super smart and capable of recognizing individuals, which can lead to repeated encounters for people who inadvertently come too close to their nests.
Despite these terrifying aerial attacks, a recent study showed that Vancouver residents actually don’t mind crows. People appreciate the birds’ intelligence and adaptability, even if it means occasionally dodging a dive-bomb.
To try and protect yourself from a crow attack…experts recommend carrying umbrellas or wearing hats when walking in areas known for active nests. There’s even a website where you can track and see where aggressive crow behavior has been happening. So smart!
Maybe we should start tracking aggressive geese….
