The pilot project is back and has expanded. Last year alcohol consumption at City of Edmonton parks (limited to the River Valley) rolled out. This year they’ve expanded the pilot to parks outside of the River Valley, at 124 picnic sites across 18 parks. You’ll need to be seated at a designated picnic table to consume alcohol. Beginning May 1st 2022 till Oct 10th 2022 between the hours of 11am – 9pm you can sit and sip in the sunshine. Some sites you can pre-book and other sites are on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
